Every other month, we bring together Radical Mentoring mentors, church staff, and pastors to build community, encourage one another, and share what we are learning about creating environments where people grow deeper with one another—and with God.
Our final Mentor Huddle of the year is Thursday, November 19, at 12:00 noon ET, and we’d love for you to join us.
For this conversation, we’re going to step back and ask a simple question: If you were starting your mentoring journey over again today, what three things would you do? Not necessarily three things you would do differently. Three things you know now that you wish you had known then.
We’ve invited three voices from different places in the mentoring journey to reflect on that question:
- Michael Breed — A Radical Mentoring mentor at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church
- Ronnie Cordrey — Campus Pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville
- Ray Snyder — A mentor in Charleston who has developed his mentoring relationships inside and outside of a formal church structure
Each brings a different perspective, context, and experience. Together, they’ll help us think about what really matters in mentoring people well.
We’ll explore questions like:
- What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started mentoring?
- What would you prioritize if you were starting from scratch today?
- What would you do more of—and what would you stop doing?
- What have you learned about building trust and meaningful relationships?
- How would you approach Scripture, conversation, and the mentoring experience differently?
- What makes mentoring sustainable over the long haul?
- What advice would you give someone beginning their first mentoring group today?
This won’t be a conversation about having all the answers. It will be an honest look at years of lessons, hundreds of mentoring relationships, different church contexts, and the things these three men have learned along the way.
Whether you are just beginning to explore Radical Mentoring, preparing for your first group, serving on a church staff, or have been mentoring for years, you’ll hear practical wisdom you can take with you. Come ready to listen, reflect, and consider your own answer to the question:
If you were starting over today, what three things would you do?
We are better when we grow together. Join us for our final Mentor Huddle of the year and learn from those who have been walking the journey.
